One bar per album on one leg. The bar is listed in the sleeve credits.

Rupert came to Dayton in the spring of 1983 on a two-year secondment from an English engineering firm. He brought a concert flute, an alto flute and a suitcase of cravats. He had played in school orchestras and in nothing else.

He wrote the concepts. Each album began as a typed memorandum, two pages long, headed with the directive number and the words FOR DISCUSSION. The band discussed it. The memorandum was not amended.

On stage he recited as much as he sang. His recitations were timed with a stopwatch and never ran over. The stopwatch is in the archive and still runs.

He asked Dave Kessler to sound more British in every press session from 1983 to 1992. He has told the archive he would ask again.

Present status. Retired to Bedfordshire. Plays flute for a village choral society. Has not stood on one leg since 1992.
