Tuned the harpsichord before every show. It took fourteen minutes. The audience waited.

Clemency read music before she read books, held a diploma in organ performance, and took a degree in aeronautical engineering because, she said, the arithmetic was similar. She arrived in Dayton on the same secondment as Rupert, to work in a low-speed wind tunnel.

She arranged every suite the band recorded. Rupert supplied the concept and the flute lines. Clemency supplied everything that held them up. The band's own description of the division of labour is that Rupert wrote the directive and Clemency wrote the method of compliance.

She recorded the organ parts for the first and fourth albums on a church organ in Kettering, Ohio, on weekday evenings, by arrangement with the choir director, who sat in.

When the secondments ended in 1989 she stayed. She was the reason the band continued to 1992. Nobody in the band disputes this.

Present status. Lives in Dayton. Organist at the same church. Still consults on wind-tunnel testing, by her account mostly to correct people.
